Cowboys might not be an option for Brian Urlacher

The one club not named the Bears linked to Brian Urlacher is the Dallas Cowboys.
That’s because Rod Marinelli, the Bears defensive coordinator, left to become the defensive line coach in Dallas and to help install the 4-3 Tampa Two scheme there.
But Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones seemed to indicate that Urlacher isn’t in his team’s plans.
“He has a history with Rod, so we’ve gotten a good indication what that’s all about there. You’re talking about a Hall of Fame player here, an Urlacher. You don’t ever dismiss Hall of Famers in my book,” Jones said today. “But obviously it’d be difficult. He plays what Sean plays and to move everything around for a year doesn’t really make a lot of sense. But at the same time you don’t ever rule it out.”
Jones is referring to Sean Lee, the team’s 26-year-old middle linebacker. He only played six games last season, due to a knee injury, but he was viewed as an up-and-coming star after the 2011 season.
In addition, the Cowboys have the least salary cap room in the NFL as they work aggressively to sign quarterback Tony Romo to a long-term deal.
