Police have cleared a “suspicious object” in a building in Chicago’s Woodlawn community that prompted the CTA to suspend service on the Green Line Monday afternoon.
Authorities were alerted to the “suspicious object” in the 6300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue about 2:15 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said.
The police Bomb and Arson Unit determined the object posed “no threat” and the scene is clear as of 3:25 p.m., O’Brien said.
CTA Green Line trains were temporarily suspended but have resumed normal service, according to a CTA alert.
