A man was killed when an SUV crashed into his car on the Far South Side, sending him down an embankment and onto the roadway on Interstate 57 early Saturday.
Corey Owens, 37, was driving northbound on Racine Avenue near 100th Street when an SUV traveling the same direction hit his car at about 1:05 a.m., police said.
Owens’ Dodge Stratus went down an embankment and crashed onto the roadway on Interstate 57, where he was ejected, Officer Hector Alfaro said.
Owens, of the 5900 block of South Sangamon Avenue, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
