A Cicero man was held without bail Sunday after being charged with several sexual assaults of young girls going back to the late 1990s.
Maximino Roman-Castaneda, 57, of the 2000 block of S. Cicero, faces multiple counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse and assault, court records show.
Assistant State’s Attorney Moe Ahmad said Roman-Castaneda assaulted seven victims, all under the age of 13. He was arrested Friday, Ahmad said. The earliest assault occurred in 1997, court records show, and the most recent happened in August 2011.
Roman-Castaneda appeared before Cook County Judge Israel Desierto on Sunday and muttered what sounded like “I never molested them” to the judge. Desierto warned him not to speak and denied him bail.
