One dead, four wounded in weekend violence around Chicago

One person is dead and four others wounded in weekend gun violence in Chicago.
The latest shooting happened a little after 7 p.m. Saturday, when a man, believed to be in his 50s, was hit in the chest in the 5400 block of South Sawyer in Gage Park. He was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.
On Friday night around 8:30, 21-year-old Manuel Hernandez was shot in the chest in a hallway of his apartment building in the 3900 block of North Central in Portage Park on the city’s Northwest Side. Hernandez was pronounced dead shortly after at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Cente, authorities said.
Later Friday, two men were shot as they walked in the 5200 block of South California in Gage Park on the Southwest Side around 11:30 p.m., Officer Ron Gaines said.
One of the men, who was 19, was shot in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Gaines said. The other, 20, was shot in the side and taken to Stroger Hospital. Neither was seriously injured, Gaines said.
Around 5 a.m. Saturday, a woman in her 20s was shot in the foot in the 1600 block of South Kedvale in Lawndale on the city’s West Side, Officer Robert Perez said.
