Jay Cutler says he’ll ‘be ready to go’

Jay Cutler left the Vikings game (12/9) in the second half with a neck injury a few plays after this hit by Everson Griffen.

One day after taking a whiplash-type hit to the neck, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler informed radio listeners, “I should be ready to go later in the week.”
Appearing on his weekly ESPN radio show, Cutler said his neck was a bit tight but that he received treatment Monday morning and should be ready to play Sunday vs. the Green Bay Packers.
Cutler suffered the injury when he was hit in the head by Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen in the fourth quarter of the Bears’ 21-14 loss against the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome on Sunday. Cutler was being pulled to the ground when Griffen struck him directly in the head, bending his neck violently backward.
Cutler shot down any concerns that the hit affected his head, saying “it was neck-related and I was in spasms.”
As for the fate of the team, Cutler said: “You never like to lose games in November and December. That’s when you want to get on a roll and play good football. We’re still in control of our destiny.”
