Evanston police investigate fatal shooting

EVANSTON ­— Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man whose body was found Thursday evening on the 1800 block of Brown Street.

Police responded to several calls at 6:15 p.m., of shots fired on Brown. Upon arrival, they found the victim on the parkway, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said in a release.

Evanston Fire paramedics transported the victim to Evanston/North Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Parrot said.

The shooting site is located just west of Dodge Avenue, between Church and Emerson streets.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family, police said.

No suspects are in-custody. Anyone with information is asked to call the Evanston Police Department at 847-866-5000, Parrott said.
