Boy, 15, shot multiple times on South Side

A 15-year-old boy was critically wounded in a New City neighborhood shooting Tuesday night on the South Side.
The teenager was shot multiple times about 8:05 p.m. in the 4600 block of South Damen Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien, citing preliminary information.
Paramedics initially took the boy in critical condition to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, according to Fire Media Affairs.
The boy suffered gunshot wounds to the chest, leg and arm, and is now listed in serious condition as of Tuesday night, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
Circumstances surrounding the attack were not yet known Tuesday night.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
