Former Aon chief Patrick Ryan was transported via Chicago Fire Department ambulance to Northwestern Memorial Hospital early Thursday afternoon for complications from diabetes.
“It came across (to) the fire department as a diabetic issue,” said a Sneed source. “It was a typical diabetic response.”
Ryan was having lunch with another person in the Mid-America Club on the 80th floor of the Aon Center building just before paramedics were called, according to sources.
The call came in to the fire department at 12:52 p.m., and Ryan was at the hospital within a half hour. He was very pale and minimally responsive when paramedics arrived, but later he began speaking and seemed to be in good spirits.
Ryan was taken in good condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
