Drew Peterson Trial: Day 9
◆ Judge Edward Burmila is considering ordering a mistrial after Assistant State’s Attorney Kathleen Patton asked a witness whether she talked to Kathleen Savio about obtaining an order of protection against Drew Peterson. Earlier Tuesday, Burmila specifically barred questions about that topic, ruling it was too prejudicial to Peterson.
◆ Burmila blocked Stacy Peterson’s aunt and another woman from testifying that Peterson in 2007 had boasted that he could kill someone and make the death look like an accident.
◆ Former Bolingbrook police officer Teresa Kernc testified Savio told her that Peterson threatened her and put a knife to her throat in 2002 after sneaking into her home.
◆ A toxicologist testified no measurable amounts of drugs or alcohol were found in Savio’s body after her 2004 death. New tests done after her body was exhumed in 2007 also found no evidence of drugs or alcohol, Christopher Long testified.
