The computer system used in the city’s 911 dispatch center went down for a few hours Monday night, forcing dispatchers to do things the old-fashioned way -- with radios alone.
The system went down about 9 p.m. Monday night and was back up by 1 a.m., Delores Robinson, a spokeswoman for the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications, said. During that time dispatchers took call information down manually and dispatched with just radios.
She said the issues did not interrupt services or cause any delays in response times.
They system has gone down before, Robinson said, but she did not know when it last happened.
