Brown Line trains were bypassing a busy North Side station Friday night because of a “platform hazard,” CTA officials said.
About 7 p.m., Brown Line trains in both directions began bypassing the Addison station because of the platform hazard, spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis said.
Crews were called to make emergency repairs on at least one board on the platform, she said. It was not immediately known how long the repairs would take.
Shuttle buses were taking passengers from the station to the Belmont or Irving Park station, the CTA said.
Passengers can use the Ashland (No. 9), Lincoln/Sedgwick (No. 11) or Damen (No. 50) buses, the CTA said.
The station is about a mile west of Wrigley Field, where the Cubs played the Houston Astros on Friday afternoon.
