Five people are in custody after a Northwest Side bank robbery Friday afternoon and authorities believe two of the men are wanted for two other Wicker Park bank robberies last month.
The Chase Bank branch at 4854 W. Irving Park Rd. was robbed about 1:30 p.m. Friday, police and the FBI said.
Two suspects fled from the bank and, after a “pursuit,” were apprehended near Grand and Oak Park avenues, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.
The FBI said an alert witness got a description of the getaway vehicle, which led to Chicago Police officers nabbing the five.
The five people, three of whom were in the waiting car, are in custody, but no charges have been filed and the robbery remains under investigation, the FBI said.
Two men arrested in Friday’s robbery are also suspected of robbing the Chase Bank branch at 1230 N. Milwaukee Ave. on Jan. 20 and Jan. 30.
No injuries were reported in any of the robberies.
